Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-06-03 · Version 1.1.0
Slumbie is a service operated by Spacefrogs LLC ("Slumbie," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to slumbie.io and any related Slumbie applications.
Who this Policy applies to
Slumbie is offered only to residents of the United States. We do not direct the service to, and do not knowingly serve, users outside the United States. This Policy is written under United States federal law and the privacy laws of U.S. states (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas). It does not claim compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code, or the EU ePrivacy Directive.
Adults-only service; children's data
Slumbie is an adults-only service for users 18 years of age or older. Slumbie is designed to be used by parents or guardians to generate bedtime stories for children in their care. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from any child under 13 years of age. The information we hold about a child is metadata supplied by the parent or guardian on a "child profile" (for example, a first name or nickname, an age, and story preferences). That metadata is supplied by, controlled by, and the responsibility of, the adult account holder. If you believe a child under 13 has somehow created an account or submitted personal information directly to us, please contact privacy@spacefrogs.dev and we will delete it.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information: (a) account information you provide, such as your email address, name, and password (managed by our authentication provider, Clerk); (b) child profile metadata you submit, such as a child's first name or nickname, age, and story preferences; (c) story content, including the inputs you provide (characters, themes) and the bedtime stories generated by Slumbie on your behalf; (d) subscription and payment information, which on the web is provided to our payment processor, Stripe, and on iOS is collected and processed by Apple through the App Store as the merchant of record (Slumbie itself does not receive or store your full payment card numbers from either Stripe or Apple); (e) usage information, such as pages viewed, features used, device type, browser type, IP address, and timestamps; and (f) support correspondence, including any messages you send to us.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide and operate the Slumbie service, generate bedtime stories on your behalf, personalize the experience, process subscriptions, send transactional emails, prevent fraud and abuse, debug and improve the product, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
Service providers we use
We rely on the following third-party service providers ("processors") to operate Slumbie. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function and is contractually required to protect that information:
- OpenAI — generates the text of stories from the inputs you provide.
- Clerk — manages account sign-up, sign-in, and session authentication.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments and stores payment-method information.
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription entitlements for purchases made through the iOS App Store.
- Apple — processes in-app subscription payments made on iOS through the App Store as the merchant of record.
- Supabase — hosts our primary application database (PostgreSQL) and account storage.
- Resend — sends transactional email such as receipts and account notifications.
- Sentry — receives error and crash reports for debugging and reliability.
- PostHog — receives product-analytics events to help us understand which features are used.
- Upstash — provides edge rate limiting and short-term caching of computed responses.
- Vercel — hosts the Slumbie web application and serves it to your browser.
Your privacy choices
If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have certain rights with respect to your personal information, subject to limited exceptions. These rights generally include:
- the right to know what personal information we hold about you;
- the right to request that we delete your personal information;
- the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; and
- the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
Slumbie does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. To exercise any of the rights above, contact privacy@spacefrogs.dev. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Cookies and analytics
Slumbie uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the service (for example, to keep you signed in). Where we use product-analytics or error-reporting tools (PostHog, Sentry), we honor your in-app consent choice. You can change your tracking preferences at any time on the Settings page.
Data retention
We retain your account information, child profile metadata, and stories for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, payment records) by law.
Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system can be completely secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact privacy@spacefrogs.dev immediately.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and effective date below. If a change is material, we will notify you in-app or by email before the change takes effect.
